CAMILA FERRES

Camila Ferrés was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, but grew up in Brazil. In 2009 she got her degree in Fashion Design from IED - Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid. Her graduate collection rendered her a prize for Best Womenswear Collection and an invitation to participate in the Arnhem Mode Biennale, doing a project directed by the dutch design duo Klavers Van Engelen.

Camila was chosen to represent IED Madrid in the international contest My Own Show, organized by Vogue Italia's legendary editor Franca Sozzani, to whom she personally presented her collection in Milano when she reached the finals.

While living in Madrid, she worked at the Spanish couture atelier Nihil Obstat, collaborating at the same time with the brands Delpozo, Sybilla and Carmen March. In collaborating with these houses she developed strong draping and construction skills, acquiring a taste for artisanal craftsmanship.

Back to Brazil in 2010, Camila became a ready-to-wear designer for Carlos Miele. In 2011, based in Porto Alegre, she opened her own studio doing custom evening wear, mostly bridal gowns. While doing custom work, the designer felt the need to express her own aesthetic and point of view, so in 2014 she released her first collection of made-to-order evening wear.

Camila's collections do not follow the season calendar. They are released once a year and each piece she creates adds to the same puzzle of a timeless yet always up to date wardrobe for the chic and modern woman.
